Our celebration will offer as much of Louisiana culture as we can gather in one place!

Join us at Trynd, located in an historic building in downtown Lafayette. Enjoy chic ambiance of Trynd’s upstairs lounge and open air patio and sample a bit of their delicious cuisine, along with a selection of other culinary delights from Louisiana chefs.

Join us in appreciation of our visual artists. A limited edition signed and numbered LA Fête Lafayette poster by Lafayette artist Francis X. Pavy will be available for sale. You can even bid on the original painting, as well as other arts and crafts created by our local artisans.

Join us to be entertained by two of Louisiana’s great musicians!

The feature entertainment for the evening is New Orleans favorite Kermit Ruffins & the Barbecue Swingers. You may recognize him from the HBO hit series Treme, but he’s better known for his swinging, good-time jazz. He calls it “happy music,” and he likes to get people up and dancing, so you better bring your dancing shoes to LA Fête Lafayette! The New York Times called him “An unabashed entertainer who plays trumpet with a bright, silvery tone.” Find out more about Kermit Ruffins at Basin Street Records.

The evening will begin with entertainment by Lafayette’s own Rex Moroux. This local singer-songwriter has three studio albums under his belt: 105 and Lullaby, Royal Street Inn, and his newest release, These Bricks Are Bleeding. Read more about Rex Moroux in this feature story on theadvertiser.com that ran earlier this month.

Join us to keep our culture alive! Funds raised through LA Fête Lafayette 2011 will help LCEF to provide access to healthcare and economic development services for our state’s cultural workforce.
